Old Copper and Polybutylene
Most leaks we find are in old copper or polybutylene, the grey plastic pipe used widely in the 70s and 80s. Polybutylene is known to break down and fail, and leaving it in place often costs far more than replacing it once a flood has done its damage. We can repipe with copper or cross-linked polyethylene (PEX).
Why Ignoring It Costs More
An undetected leak damages framing and finishes and creates conditions for mold. The repair is almost always cheaper than the repair plus the remediation.

Do you repair the wall afterwards?
Our work covers the plumbing repair. Cosmetic restoration such as drywall finishing, paint and tile is separate unless we agree otherwise in writing — we will tell you up front when a job involves it.
I have polybutylene. Is it urgent?
It is worth planning for rather than waiting. Failures tend to be sudden, and a planned repipe is far cheaper than an emergency one plus water damage.
